We think our studio is very special not just because it looks cool but because everything in it is carefully considered and has a story. We only purchase new items that are made from sustainable material (like our bamboo desks, Hermann Miller Mirra Chairs and the Vestfrost fridge which is the world’s most efficient), we try to buy second-hand whenever possible (designer pieces where possible of course, usually from our friend Ken Neale at 20th Century Modern) or more unusual pieces such as our ex-surgery task lights and ex-airline trolleys for storage) or simply do without (no planet-killing air-con/heating system or foosball tables here!)
We go with natural light and water based paint for our walls and bee waxed desks throughout to reduce toxicity (heaps of plants help too!) and even have a worm farm to minimise our waste. Our company bike fleet coupled with GoGet car share service means none of our employees drive to work. Finally, we try to remember that a studio is more than just the physical space, it’s about the people; which is why we do in-studio yoga and apply a chunky well-being budget each month to employee happiness (eat your heart out Bhutan!).

Before it was soap-a-fied, the space was your typical naff corporate office space, the carpet was very blue. When we first starting planning the fit-out, the Soap crew was 12 people I think. We were growing rapidly so we worked closely with Alysha and Irena Bakulic (project manager) to squeeze the most out of the space while keeping the aesthetics nice and tasty. The space now accommodates 19 staff members comfortably, which we have just recently filled.
The deck was the big clincher when acquiring the office. It serves us well for parties and our Friday BBQ’s.

Set in the slums of Surry Hills, Sydney, Naked Australia is carrying on the proud traditions of its British father. Since storming onto the Australia communications scene in September 2004, the agency has managed to locate (and employ) the majority of brilliant misfits working in the Australia communications industry. Surprisingly this absurd recruitment strategy has paid off and the agency is producing ground breaking work for some of the world’s biggest brands.

If you got the chance to take a walk in our offices you will notice some major differences to other agencies. We don’t have physical phones, all our phone calls are made through VOIP. If that doesn’t make you flinch you will notice that we all work in the same room on small desks - the small desks discourage people who love to over print useless stuff (there is just no room), the seating style allows us to interact with everyone daily and creates interesting battles over what’s played on the radio
On Friday nights you will no doubt find our people playing pool, foosball, poker or socialising around the bar area. We are not trying to be like anything we have seen around, we are simply trying to create an environment that suits our staff and who we are as an organisation.
The office as a whole is about creativity, providing brilliant work and having fun doing it, I think we find that balance.
